JCT Tackle & Archery Pursuit Report

Forsyth FFA Alumni Benefit Tournament April 18th, 2026

April 18th marked the 9th Annual FFA Forsyth Alumni Benefit White Bass Tournament.

This year, Jct Tackle and Archery were proud to be the official checkpoint for the anglers, serving as a central hub for participants and spectators alike. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as fishing enthusiasts gathered to share their passion for the sport and engage in friendly competition. Jct Tackle and Archery not only provided essential supplies and gear but also created a vibrant community space where anglers could connect, share tips, and discuss strategies for the tournament ahead.

In typical Missouri fashion, we saw a balmy 80 degrees on Friday for pre-fishing, creating an ideal environment for anglers to scout their favorite spots and test their equipment. However, Mother Nature decided to play her tricks, executing the classic bait and switch as temperatures dropped drastically overnight, accompanied by unexpected thunderstorms. These sudden changes in weather caught many off guard, forcing them to adapt quickly to the shifting conditions. The stormy night left behind a blanket of clouds and a sense of uncertainty about what the next day would hold for the tournament.

As the sun rose on the big day, anglers were met with wet and cool conditions, a stark contrast to the previous day's warmth. The drizzle persisted, and temperatures hovered around a brisk 45 degrees, setting a challenging stage for the competitors. Despite the less-than-ideal weather, the determination of the anglers shone through. The bite was indeed a challenge, with fish seemingly less active in the chilly waters, but the participants did not let this deter them. Armed with their skills, knowledge, and a bit of luck, they persisted and conquered the waters, showcasing their resilience and passion for fishing.

The tournament offered an array of prizes awarded to the top five placements, recognizing the hard work and skill of the anglers. The categories included 1st to 3rd place for overall performance, as well as special awards for Big Bass and Small Bass, which highlighted the diversity of catches throughout the event. These prizes not only celebrated the winners but also motivated all participants to push their limits and strive for excellence, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and competition that is at the heart of angling tournaments. The event was not just a test of skill but also a celebration of the fishing community, bringing together people from various backgrounds united by their love for the sport.

The winning anglers for this even were;

Matt Davis: 1st place & big bass - 9.1 lb overall and 2.25 lb Big Bass

Carter Braden: 2nd place & smallest bass

Simon Blacksher: 3rd place

Congratulations to everyone who participated and came out to support the Forsyth FFA Alumni.
